Ingredients:
- 500gm boneless chicken thighs
- 4tbsp soy sauce
- 1tbsp honey
- 1/2 cup mirin
- 4tbsp caster sugar
- 4 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 green onions, cut into 1 inch length
- 2 tbsp corn syrup
- salt and pepper to taste
- 10-12 bamboo sticks
How to make Chicken Yakitori:
Add soy sauce, mirin, sugar,garlic,honey,corn syrup in a small sauce pan, and cook over medium heat.
Add salt and pepper in the sauce.Cook sauce 10_15 minutes or until sauce has reduced and thickened slightly.Set aside the sauce and cool completely.Soak the Bamboo sticks in cold water for 10-15 minutes.Now prepare the chicken, cut chicken thighs into 1 inch pieces.Thread chicken and green onions onto bamboo sticks and set aside.Preheat the grill on medium heat until hot.Brush bamboo sticks with sauce and start grilling.When the chicken starts changing color, brush the sauce on both sides.Grill the chicken yakitori over medium heat until chicken is completely cooked.Serve chicken yakitori with rice.
